Never a Dull Moment

This is crazy!!!

image

So, last night about 10:30 I decided I was hungry.  I made the decision to run to McDonald’s before they closed. I know it’s not a healthy choice but I was hungry and lazy!

Off I go, just Kenzie and I.  The drive there was uneventful and all I was thinking of was how hungry I was (and how Kenzie was probably getting hair in my freshly cleaned car, but that’s irrelevent).  I had no idea how exciting things would become.

So I leave McDonald’s with my cheeseburger and fries. I’m driving down the highway on my way home and I get about a 1/2 mile up the road and that’s when it happened.

             I ALMOST HIT A STEER!!

image

Now, I live in a city (a small one but still a city). There are no farms or ranches in this area!  So, you can imagine my surprise when I had to hit the brakes to avoid this large animal.

Well now I had my next dilemma. I had to alert someone of this crisis. So I called 911.  I said “um, this might sound crazy but I almost hit a cow”.  The dispatcher says “where are you?” I told her I was by the National Ski Hall of Fame. Her response “where?” She was quite surprised and I know she was thinking “this lady must have been drinking”.  She told me she would send and officer right there. Luckily there was one already in the area!!

For 3 hours over 100 people gathered around to watch state and city officers try to capture this large animal while trying to keep the citizens safe.  Roads were blocked off and cars were everywhere making it difficult to navigate your way around.

image

Finally around 2 am they were able to get a rope around him and keep him contained until the local vet got there with a trailer to transport him. The fire department was called in to assist in getting this very large animal into the trailer.

No one was injured and the steer was also unharmed.  I guess the moral of this story is ALWAYS EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!

Mackenzie

image

HI!! My name is Mackenzie. My people call me Kenzie for short. When I’m in trouble my mom calls me Mackenzie Mae!

I am a 55 pound pure bred pitbull. I was born on September 27, 2012 in Escanaba, Michigan.

Here is a pic of my mom!

image

And this is my dad with my brother!

image

Now I know you might be thinking “a pitbull? Those dogs are mean”.  Well this is what I say to that!!

image

              Sorry, that wasn’t nice!

If you would just give me a chance and get to know me, you would see that I’m not any different than other dogs.  My people didn’t raise me to fight. They taught me to love all animals and be polite to all people. Well, I’m still working on being polite. My mom says that jumping on people isn’t being polite but I just can’t help it. When you walk in the door I’m so excited to see you and you’re so darn cute, I just can’t help myself. I’m working on it, I promise!

My favorite things are going for walks,

                          swimming,

               hanging out with my mom
                    (I’m a momma’s girl)

and of course sleeping. I’m really good at
                              that!!

image

I’m not perfect. I do have a few bad habits. I jump on people I love (I already told you that), I sometimes pee a little when my people walk in the door (I get so excited when they come home), I steal shoes every chance I get (if my people can’t find their shoes they can’t leave me), when you leave my house I lunge for your feet or hands (I’m just trying to tell you not to leave) and there is not a toy made that I can’t destroy. Well except for that unbreakable ball my mom bought me but I’m working on eating that one too!

See, I’m not mean, vicious, a fighter, untrustworthy or all the things that people say about me. The truth about me is, I love very deeply, I’m very loyal, I’m playful and very smart! Did I tell you that I can sit, lay down, shake (with both paws), leave a treat on the floor until I’m told I can have it, kiss my mom before my every meal, give high five and so many other things?

So there you go!  There is a little about me and all of my breed. I hope you understand us a little better now that we’ve talked. And if you still need some convincing, come over to my house to play and I’ll lick your face until you say uncle!!

Blessings

Today is count your blessings Sunday! I have so many things to be thankful for!

These 2 guys are my reason for waking up every day. They have grown into amazing men and I am so proud of the both of them.
Dylan is 18 and just graduated from high school. He loves basketball and hanging out with his girlfriend. Dustin is 21 and he is all about fishing. If there is a fish to be caught he is all in.

This is my husband of 23 years! He is a miner that works very long hours every day to provide the best for our family.

This is my best friend, my partner in crime, my travel around the United States partner. We have been friends for 13 years and have so much fun together!

This is where I live. Born and raised in Upper Michigan. I am proud to be called a “yooper”.  This place I call home is by far the most beautiful place in the world. Despite the hundreds of inches of snow that we get per year, it is still so beautiful!

And last but not least, this is my J.O.B.  I have been with It Works Global for 1 year now. Starting my own business was scary and it is a lot of work but so rewarding. I love helping people to get healthier, look younger and gain financial freedom.  It was definitely one of the best decisions that I have ever made. We are a family and all about Friendships, Fun and Freedom!!

So these are the things that mean the most to me! Thanks for listening as I shared my blessings with you.

I hope you all take time today to count your blessings!!
